The Amputees Helping Amputees Support Group meets for special programs.
The support group provides amputees and
their families the chance to interact with others who have experienced limb
loss and to learn more about related issues.
The amputee support group was
started September, 2001.
The group addresses such topics as "Dealing with Limb Loss," What's New in
Prosthetic Devices," "Skin Care," "Phantom Pain," Traveling with a
Disability," Nutrition and Exercise." There are occasional guest speakers as

yearly Amputee Extravaganza held at Jefferson-Patterson Park and Museum in
